Holy Spirit Retreat Center offers hospitality and opportunities for spiritual growth for individuals and groups regardless of religious affiliation or financial status. The Center provides an environment of natural beauty and solitude within 30 acres of wooded land on Lake Elysian. The Sisters of Saint Francis sponsor and staff the retreat center.

The retreat center includes a conference area (for 50), a chapel, fully equipped kitchen, dining room (for 45), 18 bedrooms (sleeps 35), and bathrooms with showers for men and women. AV equipment is available. Groups are asked to bring food to do their own cooking and their own sheets and towels.

Two Hermitages are available for solitude and prayer. LaForesta and Jacoba are modern one-room cabins located on 18 acres of wooded land jutting into Lake Elysian. Both hermitages have full bathrooms, heat and the Jacoba Hermitage is handicapped accessible. The kitchenettes are equipped with a microwave, refrigerator, full stove, toaster oven and dishes. Radio/CD player and a weather radio are provided. Guests are asked to bring their own food, sheets and towels; Jacoba has a double bed and LaForesta a twin bed.

Spiritual Direction is offered at Holy Spirit Retreat Center. Spiritual direction encourages you to explore a closer relationship with God, by reflecting deeply on the experiences of your daily life.

Directions:

From the East on Highway 14: On the West side of Waseca, US HWY 14 becomes Waseca County 14. Continue on this road to the east edge of Janesville. Turn right onto Waseca County 3 (East Elysian Lake Road). Go North 3.5 miles. Turn left at the Retreat Center Sign.

From the West (Mankato): Take US HWY 14 East to the second Janesville exit, Waseca County 3 to the center of Janesville. Turn right at the 4-way stop. At the east edge of Janesville, turn left onto Waseca County 3 (East Elysian Lake Road). Go North 3.5 miles and turn left at the Retreat Center sign.

From the North (Minneapolis/St. Paul): Take I-35 South to the second Faribault exit. Go West on HWY 60 about 20 miles to Waseca County 3 (East Elysian Lake Road) east of Elysian. Note: DO NOT take LeSueur County 3 near Waterville. Turn left onto Waseca County 3 and go 3 miles. Turn right at the Retreat Center sign.
